Adapt or Shape Out” urges VC

JOOUST Ladies network today held a virtual conference dubbed "The pinnacle woman". The conference sort to bring together JOOUST ladies professors, members of Academic staff and heads of departments.

While opening the event, the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Stephen Agong' urged the ladies to be proud of their tremendous achievements at the university and beyond. He urged the ladies to be the best version of themselves to be the best mentors for the female students around the University and in their communities." I would like to urge you to bring synergies for developmental and academic progression." Said Prof. Agong'.

The Chief Guest during the event was Dr. Dinah Mwinzi, The Vice-Chancellor KAG EAST University who delivered her address on "Succeeding in a competitive world". Dr Mwinzi advised JOOUST ladies to be relevant with the latest technological advancement to avoid being left out in the fast-paced technologically evolving world. " Be relevant by updating yourselves with current skills of the trade so that you can be relevant and marketable, focus on high-value activities." Urged Dr Mwinzi.

Present during the event was JOOUST Council member Ms. Joyce Karinge who was happy that the idea she conceived when she was appointed as a Council member had finally borne fruits. She urged JOOUST ladies to motivate each other. "Our JOOUST female students are looking up to you as mentors unconsciously and this informs the way we carry ourselves within and outside the University." Said Ms. Karinge.

JOOUST ladies network is a network comprising academic staff and section heads of the University whose aim is to provide mentorship, networking and leadership skills training to female students and girls within and without the University.
