1. oversee and plan, in consultation with the Senate, students' activities for the promotion of academic, spiritual, moral, harmonious communal life and social well-being of all students;
  2. draw to the attention of the appropriate authority, where necessary, special needs from particular students;
  3. offer suggestions to the Senate on matters affecting the well being of students; and
  4. undertake such other functions as provided in its governance instrument as approved by the Council.
The University shall have a Students' Council elected by the Students Association, and not more than one–third of the Council shall be of the same gender where applicable.
